Choosing a 3G modem
There was a question of choosing a 3g modem.
Could you recommend a good option.
The modem requires stable operation, the ability to connect an external antenna and good signal reception.
I dealt with ZTE and Huawei modems.
ZTE mf 112 - did not suit the quality of signal reception and did not want to work through a 1.5 meter extension cable.
Huawei E 171 - worked stably for a couple of months. And now strange behavior is observed, I connect, load a couple of pages and then mysticism begins. There seems to be a connection, but not one node does not respond. Breaking the connection, and then reconnecting, the situation repeats.

At the Huawei e5830 itself, it catches the norms, the norms work through the wire. From a megaphone it catches 1-2 real megabits stably in Moscow, connected it through a thin flimsy 1.2m cable to a usb1 port - it starts up normally.
Didn't try Doogie.
If you do not feel sorry for 3000 and the provider Megafon, then E392. As a gift there will be unlimited 3G / 4G until July 15th.
I wrote a review about it on Habré.
I live on the last mile, I have ZTE, CDU and Sierra 595U. I recommend the latter, even though it is without RUIM. It was on the last mile that he showed the best reception and stability of the connection.
I currently have a ZTE E367. There is a megaphone tower near the house. Downloading a file from a good server consistently gives 15-18 (Kaliningrad). My smartphone is in the same place only on Beeline no more than 2 can.
Are you considering mobile routers? For example Huawei E5832 from Megaphone? 2 tr. and you have a wifi router with its own battery.
Huawei e173 - a year and a half without complaints, there is an output for an antenna and a micro sd connector. In my purely subjective opinion, the equipment from ZTE is of very poor quality.
Alcatel from Svyaznoy, X220S is a normal modem. ZTE is also good. By the way, all my modems work without problems on a regular two-meter USB extension cable.
In general, the newer and faster the modem model, the more pleasant it is to work with it, even if the network cannot physically support high speeds.
