Choice of access point for the house?
Now I use the tplink1043nd router, as a router it completely suits me after I installed OpenWRT. But wifi is bad (in the top it happens 70-80 Mbps, but periodically sags up to 10 Mbps), largely due to the fact that the air around is very noisy, and there is no 5GHz in the router.
Therefore, I have 2 options: leave my router and buy an access point or buy a new router that supports OpenWRT.
I prefer a separate access point, because. in the end, I will be able to switch to a homemade x86 router, but perhaps here I am not driven by pragmatism, but by the desire to assemble something myself.
I know few options for buying a ready-made router with OpenWRT:
- tp-link archer c7 - good hardware for the money, but complaints about the quality of communication
- linksys WRT AC1200 - expensive, for this money you can assemble a router yourself and more powerful hardware
. It turns out for less than 10k rubles, I can't get a router with OpenWRT with excellent wifi quality. Therefore, I think it's worth just spending money and buying a separate access point that will solve my problems. And how can the router continue to use tp-link1043nd when it breaks down to assemble it on x86 itself.
Of the access points, I settled on 3 models:
1. Unifi UAP‑AC‑PRO
2. TP-LINK EAP330
3. Mikrotik OmniTIK 5 PoE ac
In total, I have 2 questions:
1. Should I buy a separate access point for a 2-room apartment?
2. If yes, which one to choose?

Good day.
In a two-room apartment, I would still put a separate point. To comfortably use the Internet.
Regarding the choice of access point, I bought Edimax access points in my house.
Read on the Internet, very interesting hardware.
for you I can advise you this point Edimax CAP1200
what I like about them is that they can be combined and make seamless roaming. That is, you assign one point as a controller, and the second point as a slave. it is very convenient to move around the building and talk on Skype without breaking the connection. especially since the equipment is not expensive. If you have any questions, write in a personal, I'm new here. I'm getting used to it.
