Can you please explain what is Weekly Payment on Upwork?

I have been working with a client for a couple of years on Upwork on a full-time hourly contract.

The other day, he suggested that I switch to Upwork weekly payment with a salary increase and other goodies, such as paid vacation. The conditions suit me well.

I rummaged on Upwork, I can not find normal information about weekly payment.
How are things going with payment protection? If time is not tracked on this type of contract, it is not clear how you can dispute in case of any problems on the part of the client?

Has anyone faced this?

I think this is a regular Fixed Price with fixed Weekly payments.

I think he's suggesting you work outside of Upwork. The option is generally good if you have known each other for a long time and trust each other.
Of course, there will be a little more problems with the transfer of money.

Thanks to everyone who responded, it cleared up a little about the weekly payment. I'll ask the question about payment protection to the UW technical support, it's not written anywhere.
