Is it possible to change the laptop screen resolution to a given one? In some programs, the elements do not fit on the screen and I would like to know if it is possible to do this.

On Linux, you can use xrandr, and absolutely anything.

Yes, you can. But if you use a resolution that is not native to the screen, the image quality will be worse.
