Can the hard drive break if?

Hello, please tell me, can a hard drive break if you often change Windows?
I was told that it often cannot be formatted, because then all sectors are involved, and this can lead to its breakdown =) is it so ?!

Of course not.
Another thing is what kind of hard drive (HDD \ SSD \ + volume) and what is "often".
Because if you have a 30 GB SSD and you put Win7+ on it with all your software every day, this is a slightly different topic.
Well, the question arises - why often reinstall Windows
- out of curiosity (new versions / assemblies): assemblies are evil, but versions do not appear so often; if "to look at" - you need to get acquainted with virtual machines or at least a dual boot, although the second is undesirable for these purposes
- for production purposes - virtual machines
- scorched earth tactics to combat viruses / malware - get acquainted with firewalls, anti-malware, antiviruses, pump your head
