Can the hard drive be removed?

Hello. My laptop's HDD failed and I replaced it with an SSD. And put the HDD instead of the drive. I have sector bits on the HDD and no data is stored on it at all. Is it possible to remove it from the laptop at all?

Can.
Why put it at all if you don't use it. Maybe for file cleaning, some data that is not a pity to work

Not possible, but necessary.
Modern HDDs cannot have bad blocks. There is a special reserve area that replaces bad sectors automatically. The appearance of bad blocks indicates that the reserve area is filled to the limit and you have about 20% of the disk already dead and in the near future it will move its hooves.
In addition, the replaced blocks are far away and it takes time to get to them, a lot of blocks a lot of time. In short, such a disk slows down terribly.
