Can the Google Chrome extension create its own tab with its own content?
To make it clearer, I will give an example for Firefox: when you click on the Brief extension icon (rss reader), it creates its own tab with the address moz-extension://{sid}/ui/brief.xhtml where the main work takes place.
Is this available for chrome extensions?
