Why not use an email client, setting it up to leave emails on the server, if that's important?

In firefox, this was due to hardware acceleration. Disabled - helped. Perhaps others have a similar problem.

We go into the history (CTRL + H), click on the "Clear history" button. in the window that opens, select the slider "for all time" and leave only one checkmark in front of "Hosted application data" and restart the browser =)
