Can the DJI Osmo M4 be used without the Mimo app?

I have a Pixel 4XL (Android 11) phone and recently bought a DJI Osmo M4 gimbal. I wasn't too impressed with the included DJI Mimo app. The quality of both video and photo is quite far behind what the native Google Camera can offer. And I had a question: is it possible to connect the stabilizer to the stock camera? At least, is it possible to use the record button? Or, alternatively, are there any decent Android apps that are friendly with the stabilizer and produce quality stuff? I got a lot of good reviews about MAVIS, but this program is only for iOS (or is there a port?).

You can select the mode and use any other camera app. The function buttons will not work.
