Can't turn on wifi on windows 8
Hello, dear habrazhitel!
Once upon a time, while still sitting under Ubuntu 12.04, I accidentally turned off the Wi-Fi adapter from the GUI. I could not turn it back on, so I abandoned the problem.
Today I installed Windows 8 on a new HDD, and it never turned on. Moreover, the hardware switch is on, the indicator is on, the drivers are installed, the system sees the adapter. I ran different diagnostics, pulled all possible switches. What to do?

Look for another semi-hardware switch on the keyboard itself of the FN + Fx type plus before that, try installing official firewood from the manufacturer’s website along with the “proprietary” program - it may have a tab with settings that turn on when you press the mentioned button to turn on wireless devices: only bluetooth, only Wi-Fi, both simultaneously and / or sequentially (well, or something like that).
PS What about Unknown device? Look for it by ID here - devid.info
PPS And yet - did you install a package with drivers for the chipset, downloaded from the off site of intel / laptop manufacturer?
I had the same problem - from the panel I clicked turn off Wi Fi and oops, the hard switch does not help, etc.
I decided relatively simple - right-click on the network icon, and chose something like "troubleshooting" (I don't remember exactly). At the first step, Windows said they say everything is turned off, turn it on? - yes, and everything turned on ...
