Can I use my work in my portfolio?
There was such a question. I am a freelancer (visualizer of the Instagram feed) updated my portfolio, and recruited those who wanted to do it for free. I started working with a girl, I told her about the portfolio right away. She said that she was ready to pay so that the work would not go into the portfolio, to which I replied that for a start I would make several options, and then it would be visible. After I sent her the work, it turned out that “this is not what was needed, it was necessary to process photos, etc.”
I immediately refused further work, due to the fact that I do not process photos. To which she said that I did not use the work. There was no payment from her. Can I use my work with her material in my portfolio?

If it is immediately said that the work does not go into the portfolio, then it is better not to exhibit it.
Especially with the materials of the customer, for the use of which without consent, they will sue even without a lawyer. Especially with such a conversation.
Real works are much more valued in the portfolio, which can be seen not only on screenshots, but also on sale.
In Russia, you cannot buy the author's right to post work in a portfolio - it is inalienable. If the girl has a public profile, and your materials are also used there, then you are a co-author of this "work", you can upload its screenshots in your portfolio as much as you like and anywhere, and you do not need her permission.
