Can I use an HDD cable to connect a SATA SSD?

When I bought a laptop, the kit included this cable from the picture below.
It says in small print that it is for the HDD. I want to replace the HDD with an SSD. Will this cable work for this?

Just do not understand there is an additional place for installation ?
Or if instead of hard then there should be the same in theory?
