Can I use a virtual machine with a VPN connected to it as a local proxy server?
NORD VPN is configured to tunnel to certain programs in the system and it does not always work correctly, it may start picking up traffic from software that is not on the white list. There was an idea to raise a virtual machine, put a nord and a proxy server there, so that it would be possible to configure everything through the latter, without using tunneling. On the main system, there will be Proxifier, or in extreme cases, I will configure the connection through a proxy in the software I need. I want to hear your advice on how to do it the right way.

Yes it is possible. in the virtual machine, raise vpn, put socks or http proxy server there, add the Host only network adapter (in addition to the Nat adapter). prescribe the ip to the host and the virtual machine from the same subnet to this adapter (I don’t remember whether the host is automatically given 192.168.56.1 there, and the other virtual machines with such a network adapter are from this subnet). And through the proxy, let traffic through the ip of the virtual machine .
