Can I put a RAM frequency that is higher than the processor allows?

Hello dear builders ;) I want to build a PC based on Intel Core i3-9100F with Gigabyte H370 HD3 motherboard. In short, the Motherboard supports the 2666 RAM frequency, but the i3 processor does not agree with it and wants no more than 2400. The question is: if I put the RAM at 2666 frequency, will my processor work correctly with it or not?
