Can I learn more than one programming language at the same time?

I once read that when learning web programming, JavaScript and PHP cannot be learned at the same time, such as this will cause confusion. I've followed this advice until now, but I've recently become interested in languages such as Assembler, Python and Java, can I start learning them at the same time? Or maybe alternate them for days, months?
If I study Assembler in the morning, Java in the afternoon, and Python in the evening, can I end up in a mental hospital?

No one can guarantee you that you will not end up in a psychiatric hospital, regardless of whether you study them or not :)
On the case. If the languages differ from each other significantly, as indicated by you, then it will not be difficult to switch between them. It would be more difficult if you studied, say, C++, C# and Java.
It will be especially easy if you already know how to program. At least in one language. But if all three are for you, this is programming from scratch, then I would be careful.
