Can I connect an old hard drive to a new computer so that all data is preserved?
Hello. There are two computers (one old, Windows xp, the second new, 7). Is it possible to attach a hard drive from an old PC to a new one so that all the programs (1s, etc.) remain in working mode? What needs to be done? Just connect? :D

Before disconnecting the drive from the old computer, go to the Device Manager and manually change the drive controller driver (IDE or SATA, on which the drive hangs) to "Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller". After that, on the new computer, switch SATA to IDE mode (in BIOS), after loading, install the SATA driver in Windows, switch boot from AHCI to OS and reboot:
