Can I buy a Nexus 5 in the US using my account and link someone else's Visa card?

The situation is as follows: now there is a friend in the USA who will soon go home. I decided to order a Nexus 5 for him, but I can’t transfer money to his card, there are some problems with the card. I'm interested in the question: is it possible to buy a device if I:
a) create my new "supposedly American" account, link my card to it, pay for the purchase, but indicate the delivery address of a friend? Will there be any problems getting delivery? Could there be any other pitfalls in this case?
b) I will link my card to a friend's account and he will buy the device himself, from his account, but from my card? Again, what are the nuances?
Perhaps there is another way? Thanks in advance.

US$ 360 = 12 746.5213 Russian rubles

This is with delivery to the US, according to w3bsit3-dns.com. Plus shipping to the Russian Federation - another $ 30. Plus, you may need to clear customs.
Available in stores can be found for 15-16 tr.
Is there any point in such savings?
