Can a site with built-in mining, in addition to the load on the processor, carry some kind of malicious code for the system (contain viruses, keyloggers, etc.)?

Is it worth checking the system with some utility after such visits, or even worse - installing an antivirus?
Mac OS system, Safari browser

In principle, it can, even without the knowledge of the owners, like any other site.
But if we consider it from the point of view of the owners, it is unlikely: it is beneficial for them to come to them and give away part of their computational resources - with this monetization model, it is simply stupid to spoil your reputation.

Of course it can. It does not interfere.

An antivirus should be installed in any case, except for situations where you know for sure that you won’t bring any nasty things. Even I, with all my experience on Windows, keep Malwarebytes (not advertising :) )
