Somehow in the morning, they call from work and say that they have lost control of several workshops of the plant. Broadcast Storm.

To combat broadcast storms, broadcast domains themselves are limited by spreading them across VLANs or subnets using routers. There are also switches with support for functionality that prevents this phenomenon. An L2/L3 switch might help in your case. It will cost less than a router.
