Bootstrap 2.3.2 How to properly reduce span's width? for example, there is span8, I want it to be narrower, but not as narrow as span7. For the span8 ofset2 example in the image, I need the green div to be narrower than the red caption and the blue button.

If single use, then its own class (see above). And if it's all over the site, then I think it's easier to switch from 12 columns to more of them globally.

It's better to start with version 3 of twitter bootstrap
and generate for example a 24 or 36 column grid here getbootstrap.com/customize in the Grid System section
