Bookworm died a heroic death?

At one time, they wrote about bookworm.evil.so on Habré - now the service does not show signs of life and most likely will never give it up.

Have there been alternatives? Or are there service sources?

I tried to contact the author by e-mail known to me, to which he had previously answered - to no avail. Apparently, Google still ran into him very seriously, and he decided to go underground. %)
There are not so many alternatives, and all are extremely miserable:
Google Books Downloader Lite - the simplest rocking chair on the .NET Framework
userscript to the Firefox plugin Greasemonkey - Google Book Downloader
open source Google Book Downloader for OS X
