Bluetooth headphones and Ubuntu 18.04?

I connect JBL E65 headphones via bluetooth. Everything works fine while the sound is on, for example, if music or video is on. But it is worth pausing the video or music, and after a minute or two there is no sound in the headphones. It now sounds from the laptop, although the headphones are still on and the laptop sees them connected. You need to either turn off / turn on the headphones or turn them off and on again in the bluetooth settings.
What can be wrong?
