Best server torrent client?

Hey! We need to implement video compression on the server. To do this, we have an ubuntu 14.04 x64 server that has RoR installed.
We have many users who want to compress their files online.
What is the idea: the user downloads a torrent file, the client downloads the file to the server (you need to show the user the real-time download), then a special file is launched that compresses the video. After that, we need to re-assemble the torrent file and stand up for distribution. As soon as there are > X seeds, then delete both the torrent and the files with it.
What are the best solutions to use for this?
Available Nginx, Ruby on Rails, NodeJS, Ubuntu.
PS: The video compression app is ready. Called like this: compress -f movie.avi movie.min.avi

Look towards rtorrent . The transmission often has problems. If a gigabit network is used, he does not know how to use it all, he constantly stumbles somewhere around 100 megabits. Although, maybe now there is no such problem anymore, a year ago they used it in production, they had to patch the sources themselves, because the developers did not recognize it as a bug point-blank.

rtorrent is the best way to get on the server. At one time, I had about 2k distributions on Pentium D and ordinary sata disks (I never deleted them, they accumulated over 3 years) and consistently gave 80 mbps. And yes, the home server was engaged not only in torrents and nothing slowed down.
On DL braked because of disks, of course.
