Now I'm using a MacBook Black 2008 (Linux is installed), but, unfortunately, the laptop has aged both physically and mentally (it's trite, the RAM limit is 4 giga). By the way, it was bought in the USA.
I want something as powerful as possible for a thousand dollars. As an option - for that kind of money from China you can get a Thinkpad X230 with an IPS matrix and a Core i5 on board.
Nevertheless, of course, I want to "went to the store and bought it", so as not to bother with the expectation and be nervous about the delivery. I suddenly saw the Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 with a FullHD display. It looks very good, but there is no mSATA, that is, either replace the native hard drive with an SSD in general, or look for Optibay to replace the CD-Rom, which of course is not needed.
But, I would like to hope that I did not fully study the lineup and did something. Perhaps you can give me an idea or two?
PS I develop mainly in Java and C #, so the processor and RAM are critical.

I bought myself an Acer ASPIRE V5-572G, I just can't get enough of it. Lightweight - Weighs 2 kg. Nimble - 8 GB of RAM, Core i5 / i7, Nvidia GeForce GT 750M 4Gb. Matte IPS FullHD display, keyboard backlight, mSata, long-lasting battery. Very thin and stylish, it is cheap.

And it gives you a play, I tried Skyrim from heavy, I ran through the battlefield, there are all sorts of Batmans and others.
Now I want to install ssd instead of dvd (I don’t use it anyway), but it’s more from boredom)

I took it 1.5 years ago, I don't regret it. Operational 8 - enough for the eyes. True, I don’t play games now - but GForce (650m) pulled wow at maximum without brakes half a year ago. The only thing is that the battery is dead. But most likely here I am an evil uncle to myself, stuck-poked into the network at every opportunity.
XP is always spinning on a virtual machine in the background + Netbeans + 30 chrome tabs, I don’t notice any brakes. Ubuntu 13.04
Under these conditions, the installation of Calculate linux once hung on the second virtual machine.
