Automatic payment by paypal, how to implement?

Access to the site is provided by subscription.
1. What should I use for this? As I understand it, there are 2 options: the paypal subscription button or check when the subscription date expires and send a request to the api to renew the subscription.
2. How can I track that a subscription has occurred for a particular user.
3. Will paypal send requests to my site after the subscription has been renewed automatically?
