Audio support via HDMI cable on ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT?

Tell me, is it possible to connect an ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT card to an LCD TV through a DVI=>HDMI adapter with sound support, or is this card not capable of this?

Since 2008, video card manufacturers have been gradually updating the controller to support HDMI output in addition to DVI. Due to the electrical and contact compatibility between DVI and HDMI, only a simple passive adapter (or DVI-D to HDMI cable) is required to output data via DVI to an HDMI-compatible device (such as a TV) using HDMI functions (such as audio transmission).
