stress testing

Are there stress test services for evaluating a hosting site?

Hello!

We are moving to a new hosting. The last one began to fall from day 1 of the project launch.
How can I test a new hosting for stress resistance?

Thanks in advance.

Try the standard apache bench utility ( ab, from the httpd-tools package), usually using the following parameters:
ab -t30 -c5 domain.com/
which makes 5 simultaneous requests to the site, for 30 seconds. At the same time, you can compare the number of completed requests (Complete requests).

First of all, no OpenVZ and other Virtuozzo.
VPS on this platform extremely provoke hosters to oversell, OpenVZ has a rake with the allocation of RAM, and everything except Xen poorly manages the load on the disk, and if the disk is loaded, the muscle will barely spin, this is critical for Drupal.
I used to sit on a VPS myself, until I saw this kitchen from the inside, now you can’t push me into the VPS, the only thing is that a friend opened VPS hosting (it has nothing to do with it-patrol), maybe we will cooperate with him and make a preset for Drupal, t .e. accelerator, muscle tweaks, etc.
Summary: there are no cheap and good VPS at the same time

Or is it generally easier to order a DDoS attack on your server for 10-15 minutes. It won’t be expensive, but a lot of information can be obtained, and if you communicate well with those who provide DDoS services, you can agree on various tests (starting from clogging a channel and ending with a DDoS attack on certain scripts or ports), which will allow you to quickly identify weaknesses.

I join the question
, we need a variety of tests to determine what the hosting will withstand.
I am especially interested in the following scenario:
1. unpack my system and set it up and disconnect it from the “world”
2. check how long the main guest
can withstand 3. check how long the site can withstand when walking through 2-5 random pages
4. how many search queries can withstand through the site system
5 how long can registered users who go through 3-8 pages from the TOP statistics
mostly shared and inexpensive VPS

And who is the previous hoster and what is the tariff? And where are you moving to? What is the peak load?

Try through loaddy.com. Send a test subdomain to the new hosting and check on it how the load is holding up and whether it is blocked. Just do not test too much, otherwise the hoster may be "Offended")
