Are there round pictures?

The customer sends me the source files and asks me to throw a shadow. The logos that he throws at me are round by themselves, with a transparent background. But the pictures are square and the shadow will be around the square. I tell him this, and he says that they are png and they are round. Maybe I don't understand something

If the pictures are in png, then the shadow will be from the object, because the rest of the image has no padding. The shadow is cast from the object, and in this case from the round image of the logo.
