Are there any standards for text length?

For example, when filling in the details, you can specify the length of the text, how is it determined? For example, for product names, you can google long names and make the text length a little longer, but if the name is longer, then again go into the configuration and change everything manually? Or do people not take a steam bath and make the length over 999?

There is no standard, but it is common to use "0" (unlimited) length for strings, unless there is a clear understanding that the length of the string should be forced to be limited.
