Are professional development certificates valued (Linux)?

In my city, you cannot take the same LPIC. Therefore, going to another city to take exams becomes a costly idea. But one way or another, I want to have at least some confirmation of qualifications.

Remotely, an exam and a certificate of advanced training for the total. Is it worth it and what are your thoughts on it?

Worth it or not ... A controversial question to be honest. Depends on the employer. When I was an administrator, in my practice there were tests at interviews, but few people are interested in certificates of "horns and hooves". "Any certificates? Where from? Mm, cool." Even fairly well-known Specialist courses ... Such a thing ...
But on the other hand, knowledge and skills are never superfluous, and if the choice is between 2 people, then they may well choose the one with the certificate. At the very least, this shows the attitude to the matter.
In general, a couple of times I had to select people (and as for me such an occupation), often they no longer look at knowledge, but at personal qualities.
Conclusion: as for me, money should be spent on training, not certification.

When I talk with applicants, I don’t look at papers at all.
Usually the owner of a piece of paper applies his knowledge very mediocrely. This is my statistics ....
As far as I know, in serious companies they have cut through this and do not even look at the papers.
The only thing is the public sector.

LPIC has a purely test exam, more theory than practice, basic and sometimes outdated knowledge. Not bad for an entry level though. But RHCSA is there, as they say - "practice and hardcore"
