Are Google Drive, Docs, and Photos related?

If I add a photo to Drive, will it appear in Photos and vice versa. If I delete a photo from Drive, will it stay in Photos or not? The same goes for documents.

But what if you try it - will it have a bad effect on the karma of the photo, the fact that it has already been deleted from somewhere?
