Are free Protonvpn servers less secure than premium ones?

secure core - judging by the site and their FAQ, they split the traffic into several servers so that the sender>>recipient cannot be exactly matched. A kind of decentralization, like TOR.
As for safety, I don't think it makes much of a difference.
For myself, I raised my VPN and pay 2-3 bucks a month. And I don't worry that someone else has access to it except me)
