Android why doesn't the last column fit?

I create a grid of buttons. I programmatically get the screen dimensions, set the button dimensions to 1/N of the width . On a smartphone with N=6, the last column does not fit. On the tablet, with the same N = 6, everything fits. What can be wrong?
