Android + voice call contacts

Ancient phones were able to memorize the pronunciation of the contact's name and listen to what they were saying by poking the headset button. If there is a match, call the desired contact. I was surprised that on the android phone (HTC Desire) there is no such feature out of the box.

And what's more, I can't do it. It’s a paradox, even there is a voice recognition engine of its own, and a banal call to a contact from a headset can be done nizya :(

Who will recommend what? Ideally, without reference to an online recognizer, stupidly according to samples, like in the good old days.

I don't know about HTC, but LG Optimus has a Voice Dialer that does exactly that. It seemed to me that this is a standard application.
Here's something else that annoys me: I don't want to say the name of the contact in its entirety every time. In the old motorola, I had the opportunity to bind an arbitrary word to any contact. That is, in the contact it is written "Ivan Pertovich Bezburdymakhalaev", and the voice is called as "chief". For some reason, there is no such possibility in android, although it would seem that it should be easy if the old dumbphone could do it.

Voice Speed Dial - turned out to be not the best assistant. Poor design and dogo runs even on the most advanced smartphones. And the program is paid.
If you want it for free, you can try utter! Voice Commands:

Try VoiceButton https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.... Program for voice dialing. Moreover, it correctly searches for the Cyrillic alphabet, unlike many others. Supports aliases and can run programs. It can also launch Yandex navigator or Google maps and get directions. Contact search works offline.

Three years have passed, and the problem is relevant.
For many users on various Android devices, after pressing the voice control activation button on the headset, a window appears on the smartphone screen that says "Initializing" and that's it. As a result, voice control from the headset does not work.
The solution to the problem for me was as follows: 1. I installed the Bluetooth Launch
application from the play market 2. I launched it, I chose the application from the list (as the author advises): Google application -> com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox.VoiceSearchActivity 3. Done. We check. Now after pressing the voice control button on the headset, the Bluetooth Launch program is launched
, which immediately launches a voice search - aka "OK Google"
It works tolerably well, I don't see any glitches yet. Even from a locked screen, it launches from a graphic key, which surprised me.
HTC Butterfly S 901s, Android 4.4.2
Voice control (OK Google) understands the Suffix field from Contacts, but cannot inflect its content. Therefore, if in the contact in the Suffix field it says: Favorite, then OK Google says: Call Favorite.
Recognition, alas, works for me only if there is a connection to the global network. I do not understand what this is connected with, the packages are all installed for offline work.
Maybe someone will come in handy.
