Android Studio - how to fix error while creating AVD?

Here's an error:

14:26:07 InvalidPathException: Illegal char at index 9: C:\Users\?????\.android\avd\AVD_233.avd (show balloon)

Obviously, the problem is in the Cyrillic username. I changed it to English, reinstalled the program, but the same error is issued.
I found a solution on the Internet that you need to set a different path in the ANDROID_SDK_HOME variable, but this also did not change anything ...

In general, the studio usually writes there what kind of symbol is "disabled". And here it's just an index and two spaces, after illegal char. This indicates that somewhere in the path an unprintable character is printed that is not visible. Or not.)
