Android Studio - github commit not working?

Changes to Github from Android Studio stopped committing. I click Commit Changes, a dialog box pops up as usual informing about which files have been changed or created, I click Commit & Push , "Performing Code analisys" appears, reaches the end and closes. That's it... I check Github, there are no changes...
The problem started after I deleted the app.iml in the project folder

Found a solution here... stackoverflow just unchecked the dialog box

1. I don’t know what Android studio is and what app.iml has to do with it
2. However, there is one nuance that could happen:
you use several branches in development, and your commit belongs to a branch that is not currently selected by default to display.
