Android emulator artifacts, how to win?

I've never dealt with mobile development, I'm working on the web. I installed android studio, I run the emulator with hardware acceleration and I see this:

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)
2.2 GHz Intel Core i7
16 GB
Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB
Macos El capitan 10.11.3
When switching to software acceleration the problem disappears, but it works, of course, very slowly.
What can be done? Thanks
