Hello! I found the cheapest used processor "AMD Phenom X4 9500" at a price of 700 UAH (about $ 28 (kapets)). What can you say about him? If we compare it with the laptop intel pentium b970 (2.3 GHz, 2 cores)? I just don’t understand much about hardware, but I need to assemble a system unit. Everything suited me on the laptop (4 GB of RAM): flash games worked fine (although I don’t spend time on them), I could freely watch videos on YouTube in 1080 quality. Then a screw flew on the laptop, and I booted from livecd linux. I assembled kernel 4.4 in linux - standard configuration + inclusion of several file systems and some other options in 24 minutes, remembering that my 2-core processor, ranmake -j2, and the kernel was already assembled from scratch in 14 minutes (and all this without a hard drive and a swap file). So the question is, what will work faster, AMD Phenom X4 9500 or intel pentium b970?

Your b970 is slightly better than Celeron. Any desktop processor, and the AMD Phenom X4 9500 in particular, will be much faster. If, in addition to the processor, you also have a motherboard with memory, a power supply unit, a hard drive and a monitor, then you can assemble a simple PC. Good luck.
