Amazon Web Services: how to connect clusters in different DCs?

Actually it is not clear why this is still not the case. There are replications of databases, caches, snapshots at the DC level, between regions of the same DC, but why is there still no connection between different DCs. There are two identical clusters in the States and Ireland. I have to go out of my way about this, the only option is to raise custom VPCs on both sides and connect them manually through the same Open Swan for example ( habrahabr.ru/company/microsoft/blog/196798 ) maybe I missed something and Are there more flexible ready-made solutions based on the AWS infrastructure?
