Amazon EC2: how much to hang in grams?

Do I understand correctly that you need to manually change the types of instances based on the load on the server? For example, if 10 people visit my site a day, and suddenly 1000 people come, the server will just crash, right? Does Amazon automatically increase/decrease capacity based on load?

@Quotro

The instance type does not automatically change, the number of instances does change.
Autoscaling is used to automatically adjust to the size of the load, read here docs.aws.amazon.com/autoscaling/latest/userguide/G...

You can warm up ELB to change the type of instances under load, contact support about the possibility of using this feature in the code with your servers.
