Am I the only one at the university who doesn't teach algorithms and other basic things?

I study at the 2nd year of one university in the direction of "Informatics and Computer Engineering". The problem is that they don’t even give the very necessary base that I need (they won’t give anything at the next and subsequent courses either). I heard that a couple of years ago the university was fined for pirated software. There are no programmers here. Why did I come here? I did not expect that everything was so bad, because everyone said that the university was the best. Of course, self-education rules, but wildly insulting for the time spent.
What's the best thing to do? Should I stay here and devote more time to self-education or drop out and enroll in another university?

It doesn't make sense to go to another university.
Take as much as you can from the university. For example, the ability to submit reports on unloved subjects, the ability to negotiate with teachers, the ability to ask questions on incomprehensible topics and knock out a clear explanation from the teacher. This is an extremely useful skill - the ability to solve problems.
And self-education is needed everywhere, no matter what university you go to. IT is too fluid a field for an education program to keep up with.

What did you want? You apparently yourself are not very smart once you entered some fence-building university. It was necessary to enter universities from the TOP-20, although I would have received a decent diploma.
Many of you have thawed out in the spring. You place responsibility for your future on the university - what kind of nonsense?

From the university I take a hostel, a military department, a scholarship and a scientific instructor. Satisfied.

Stay. Then you can show your parents a diploma.
It makes no sense.
