After entering the password, the screen goes blank and again requires a password, how to fix it?

Good afternoon!
I installed maven and then ran sudo apt-get update. Then I fiddled around with the /etc/environment file, then rebooted.
After rebooting the laptop with Ubuntu 18.04, I enter the password as usual (correctly). The screen immediately goes blank and again requires a password! I googled a little, it seems that the graphical shell has fallen off, but I didn’t find how to restore everything, tell me if anyone can?
I have an Ubuntu flash drive.
It also does not work to boot into the recovery mode (if I understand correctly, you need to hold down the shift when loading).
I can’t open the console when I need to enter a password (I poke Alt + Shift + F1, F2, F6, it doesn’t help)
Thanks

Authorization failed... Usually cured by deleting .Xauthority and sometimes .ICEauthority
in /home/user (user is your username).
Additional parameters and boot from the kernel and there already in the console):
rm .Xauthority and maybe also rm .ICEauthority (if the first one doesn’t help)
should work without sudo if nothing was twisted with the rights ...
If it will swear, that no access, then with sudo:
sudo rm .Xauthority and maybe also sudo rm .ICEauthority (if the first does not help)
And then reboot or sudo rebootand should let you into the interface with your password ...
