Tell me please. Is there a description somewhere on how you can add a button (leave a request)
in an element of a complex catalog component? As far as I understand, you need to copy the component with handles,
go to the component's folder, saw the element.php file there and write the + ajax button with your hands?
Or are there easier ways?

If the edition allows - use Web forms.
Yes, you can insert the call code of the Web Form component directly into element.php of the Catalog complex component. In the catalog item template, display the button to display the web form. Ajax in a web form can be enabled by writing "AJAX_MODE" => "Y"
