Access to Jabber server via PHP?

Good afternoon.
There is a server based on Ubuntu 14.04. I want to put a Jabber server on it, but I need the ability to view user messages in the admin panel web interface (in PHP + EXTJS). If it is possible to write these messages to Jabber in Mysql, it would be generally cool.
What Jabber server can do this and where can I read about setting it up?

Saving history in MySQL was at Prosody, as far as I remember.
ejabberd of the 2.x branch definitely couldn’t do this without finishing it by hand, but I can’t say anything about the latest versions.
