In your case it was glass coated with various ferromagnetic materials containing nickel, chromium or cobalt. Manufacturers do not disclose the exact composition (company secret), but the layer of metals is very thin. Nothing to worry about :)
Remove the flat magnets of the read / write head from the remains of the disk, it is more interesting and safer to play with them
