Take out the initialization of the display by layers in a separate function and call only it, and not your entire function. Because at least you have events bound on each call (and, as a result, they are called as many times on click as the number of times they were binned).

Use Opera or Vivaldi, there is a function to unload inactive background tabs from memory - this removes unnecessary load and stupidity when there are too many tabs.
