On the one hand, I would like to do something interesting and necessary, and on the other hand, not very difficult.
I would not want to do it just "for show".

1. Automation of some workflow. But you need to get into the subject area.
2. An analogue of Travis CI - travis-ci.org/
3. Some kind of distributed simulation model / multi-user toy. Fraught with some amount of swearing.
