Learning Django with a mentor. Is it real?

Hello,
I decided to learn Django and Python. Documentation, books - much is clear, something by trial and error. But unfortunately, I am not a techie by education and experience is definitely not enough.
The idea arose to find a mentor who would periodically help with answers to questions, make comments, and so on. I am also considering the option that a person will do this not only for thanks.
Interaction thought to build in this way. Once - twice a week via skype, gtalk or something else - live communication and questions. The rest of the time I do domestication tasks, read, study.
Hence the questions:
1. Where to look for this?
2. Will it really help me?
3. What other study advice would you give?
4. Maybe among you there is such a person?
