A separate page is created for each Wordpress image. What to do?
A site on WP, when creating a page with text and inserting images into the text, an empty page is automatically created for each image with one picture of the type: site/post/image_IMG_date , which, as I see it, is also indexed by Google for sure (I haven’t checked it with Yandex yet) and positions she often has no worse than the main article
Considering that I already have about 200 pages with such articles on my site and about 10 cards on each page, I can imagine how much garbage there is
Question 1: does such a number of empty pages with pictures negatively affect SEO? How strong? What to expect?
Question 2: what is the best thing to do with existing pages?
- Leave as is to avoid ranking risk (some pages are already 3 years old)
- A plugin that automatically puts a 301 redirect on all such pages to the parent page with the article. Or just block them in htcacces.
Question 3: how to prevent such pages from being created in the future? If it's bad of course
