Buy a couple of simple DSOs for 2500r. It’s enough to explain the basic concepts, when the first one is threatened, you will get the second one, without changing the educational process.

5000 is a bit small. Soviet in good condition is not always snatched for this money. Here is an oscilloscope in appearance similar to a laboratory one (there is not enough external synchronization) FNISI 1014D , but already two times more expensive than the budget. In addition to external synchronization, it is very decent in terms of characteristics.
